DOJO READY FOR WORLD KICKBOXING CHAMPS

Shogun Dojo was preparing this weekend for their upcoming fight at the World Karate and Kickboxing Championships in Portugal by holding a fundraising event to help support fighters on their way to the podium.

“What we’re doing here today is a fundraising barbecue event for the team to be able to go to Portugal in October,” said Marwan Abu Kadra, head instructor of Shogun Dojo and National coach of the Canadian Continuous and Full Contact Fighting.

Shogun Dojo had a very successful 2009 run at the World Championships in Ireland, bringing home several medals to the Bulkley Valley as well as the overall medal record collected by the over 200 Canadian fighters that attended the tournament.

Whenever the team embarks on a journey such as the World Championships the community is right behind them one hundred per cent and this time is no different. The road to victory is not only a team effort but a community effort.

“This is a very generous community and it makes me feel better about the community more and more. BV Wholesale has given us every thing for free today and we appreciate that a lot,” Abu Kadra said.
